Compensation Plan Behaviors
by
Jay E. Leisner
Sylvina Consulting

A compensation plan is one of the most important ingredients to creating a successful direct selling, party plan or MLM company.

Some of the others are pleasing products, a logical set of business-building steps that can be taught easily to new recruits, internal systems to manage the growth, healthy margins, and adequate cash to keep the business running smoothly.

This article focuses on behavior considerations for your compensation plan.

The primary purpose of a compensation plan is to motivate specific behaviors, those that you determine are required to help bond your consultants to the products, the business opportunity, and your Company. So, before you decide whether what kind of compensation plan you’d like to build, think first about the behaviors you wish your consultants to exhibit for you.

The construction of a compensation plan should begin with a determination of the minimum level of personal sales for a consultant to be considered “active” and eligible for the primary rewards of the plan. To properly set this amount, you will need to examine both the price points of your products and the consumption habits of the final consumers...more.

Part 1:
Preparing your Site for Search Engines

Internet Marketing Basics

Recently, one of our most important clients asked us for some advice on getting their Website noticed on the major search engines. We spent the better part of an hour providing some basic insights on this topic, which as it turns out, is the basis for the next five articles in this section of the monthly newsletter. Although Prodigix is by no means an authority on Website optimization, search engine submissions, and Website ranking strategies, we believe that over the past two years we have learned a few things that might be of help to our clients.

Part 2

Submitting your Website to Search Engines

Once you have finished preparing your Web pages with keywords, META tags and TITLE tags, and a Site Map (see last month's article here), you are ready to submit to the Search Engines and Directories.

Most Search Engines/Directories are set up to receive automated site submissions, while a few others require a manual submission. Some are free others are not. Yahoo!, for example, requires a $299 fee to list you in their Directory for one year. However, most people never view Yahoo's Directory, but view Yahoo's default Web site results instead. Yahoo! used to index their own Web results, but now they use Google's! The Google search engine is the single most important engine to be listed on, and it's free.

If you want to submit your site to hundreds of search engines at a time, we recommend the following products/services:

1. www.selfpromotion.com - Prodigix has been using this submission service for nearly two years now. What's amazing is that the owner of the site offers the service for free, then if you like it, he simply asks you to pay whatever you think it's worth! If you pay him $10.00 or more he'll keep your data stored for one year, plus you get access to other Web optimization articles and tools. He'll also give you tips on manually submitting to Yahoo! and others.

2. AddWeb Website Promoter - $69.99 - This software tool is worth every penny. In addition to helping you submit to the search engines, it helps you analyze your Website to maximize your keywords, links, and other critical features. With a click of a button, you can see how your site ranks in search engines, the number of other sites that link to yours (this is important - we'll talk about this next time!), and other important statistics to help you optimize your site.
